Theo from Gob | Acoustic Across Canada

Last night, Theo from Gob and his pal Danny from The Core made a stop on the Acoustic Across Canada Tour at TwoTwoTwo (The old Dungeon) in Oshawa.  This was the first time Theo had been back since 2001.  He thought it was 96 or 97, but it was actually early 2000’s when Accident Prone opened for Gob at The Dungeon.  I remember this well, as I was talking to Theo then, when their tour manager told me to “Get the fuck away from their guitars..  they are worth more than your life”.  But it was great then, and it was great tonight chatting with Theo.

Theo kicked things off with Leave Me Alone off of Too Late No Friends, where he told everyone that each song was re-done acoustically in their own unique way.  This made for more than just acoustic covers, but almost like a completely different version of their songs in general.  Self Appointed Leader was one acoustic song that Theo mentioned he may record for an album.

Fans there sang along, to mostly choruses.  Fan favourites seemed to be Soda, Oh Ellin, I Hear You Calling and Custer’s 1 Nite Stand.

TwoTwoTwo, since it opened, always reminded me of a comedy club.  And trust me..  it was last night with Theo and Danny!  Those two have a great natural sense of humour together and it shows. Set list below.
